The Dynastic Imagination has arrived

A first copy of my new academic book, The Dynastic Imagination: Family and Modernity in 19th Century Germany, just arrived today from Chicago University Press. The book deals with the way the dynastic family survived into what we often think of as the philosophical heyday of the nuclear family — as an counterweight, an irritant, a point of critique, a different, even dissident, way of conceptualizing modernity, politics and time. You can buy the book and read more about it here!
