Asal Dardan has written one of the most brilliant books about white supremacy, cultural politics and identity in contemporary Germany (Betrachtungen einer Barbarin, which was nominated for the Deutscher Sachbuchpreis 2021). So I was beyond honored when she asked me to join two brilliant colleagues, Haha El Hissy (Getürkte Türken) and Leila Essa (here a recent brilliant piece in Zeit Online) for a conversation about identity, the canon and the future of German Studies.
